Aug 25, 2012 - It was a good night for UFC veteran and former welterweight Anthony Johnson tonight at Titan Fighting 24 in Kansas City, Kansas. Making his light heavyweight debut, Johnson walked over Esteves Jones in a two-round thrashing. After coming out strong in the first with strong leg and push kicks, Johnson easily took Jones to the ground where he advanced position and held it for the duration of the first. Within 51 seconds into the second round, the referee had seen enough as Johnson rained punches on an Esteves with his back turned.

"I felt great," Johnson told commentator Pat Miletich after his win. "I still gotta get used to it. I can't just say 'Oh, I feel comfortable already'. But it's a fight. You gotta do what you gotta do to win."

This is two wins in a row for Johnson since being cut by the UFC after missing weight and ultimately losing to Vitor Belfort at UFC 142. Johnson competes next at XFN 8 on Sept. 21 in Tulsa, OK.

Not only did he win the fight impressively, but he actually came in on weight. With another 2 or so wins Dana will probably give him a call.

Heh that has to suck that you have a fight and people are more shocked that you made weight than actually won.

Should go the big Timmeh route and be a HW and eat all the ice cream he wants.

But if he did that he'd probably come in as big as Big Country used to. Just a big gut wobbling everywhere... but not as in shape as Big Country.

So BIG Anthony Johnson vs. Big Timmeh... whoever gases last wins.

Like everyone else, shocked that he made weight, I can now pay out that vbookie event I set up. Good on him for finally finding a weight division that suits him and succeeding in that change. If he can keep this up and keep making weight he may make it back to the big leagues.

I guess since he is so young he can do that sorta thing. But that has to be unhealthy and will have to do some damage later on.

Dropping weight sucks balls, I quit wrestling in high school because of that shit.

It's also murder on your kidneys.

And considering he can go out there at lightheavyweight... and he was dropping down to 170 for how many fights... he gonna be ruined.

He walks around at a legit 235 lbs, that alot of weight to drop in a week.
