It has tonight been revealed that a middleweight clash between former UFC fighters, Anthony “Rumble†Johnson and David Branch will headline the Titan Fighting Championship 22 card set for May 25th in Kansas City, Kansas.
The news was revealed on tonight’s HDNet’s Inside MMA. Both fighters have likely put pen to paper on their bout agreements.
Johnson had become a serious threat in the UFC’s welterweight division after putting together a 5-1 run inside the octagon. He decided to move up to middleweight after struggling to make 170 pounds on numerous occasions, only to spectacularly miss the 185 pound limit by twelve pounds.
Branch is 10-2 in his professional mixed martial arts career and is currently riding a two-fight winning streak. He went 2-2 during his time with the UFC, picking up decision wins over Tomasz Drwal and Rich Attonito while losing to Gerald Harris and Rousimar Palhares.
Wonder how bad Johnson is going to miss weight for this fight : He needs to string together a nice streak of wins before the UFC comes calling for him again.
