TNA World Champion Kurt Angle's recent comments about how much better TNA's iMPACT video game will be compared to WWE's SmackDown vs. RAW games has inspired the THQ game developers, who design WWE's games. THQ's Mitchell Cameron told VideoGamer.com that they passed the article with Angle's comments around the office.

"We've got that printed out and hung up with paper-clips. Just because, Kurt Angle was... I mean he was talking trash! We put it on the wall and it's like, let's look at this, this is motivation for us! He's a competitor in the field, we're taking notice of what he's got to say and we're going to try to respond in our game. We threw that around!... "We welcome the competition. We're very curious to see the product, I'm dying to play it myself just to see how their game stacks up."

Angle's comments against THQ and the SvR franchise included him saying: "I've been there. I know how much effort they put behind it. For each wrestler they usually take about two-and-a-half minutes and that's it."

TNA's iMPACT video game is set to be released this Summer while WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2009 releases sometime this Fall.

Yeah, I've read the shoot by Angle towards promoting the TNA game and degrading the SVR series. In a way his right. I mean SVR was okay mainly cause it was the only wrestling game out there. I personally played it for a week after I got it and never played it again ever since.

Its nice to see THQ notice the competition and be willing to step it up a notch cause it's been a while since they had any.

Either SvR2009 will be as crappy as always, or it will make attempts at good stuff but will be severely rushed, and therefore worse anyways. TNA has made their game from the ground up with quality in mind. SvR2009 will be SvR2008 with a couple of new things unless they start rethinking everything in it, and it's a little late for that. Maybe SvR2010 will be able to compete with TNA's game, but it'll be a little late.

Here's the deal... Angle can blast THQ all he wants (And let's face it, Angle's right and the SvR series gets worse each year.) but the fact remains... SvR 09 will come out, it'll have a couple of new features but it will take out multiple CAW parts, it will probably have a lackluster roster, and it will once again feature Austin, Bret and The Rock as legends.

But even with THQ doing this.... It'll outsell the TNA game by a couple of million copies.

I bolded the two parts of your post that are exactly why people don't respect you around here.

Being in the video game industry most new game series are built from the ground up with quality in mind. 75% plus of them suck!!!! Its easy to say TNA will have an awesome video game when no one in the genreal public has even tried it.....and I'm not disagreeing that it could very well be awesome...but what is going to be your response if it ends up sucking all kinds of ass?

It will be too late? TNA might not even be in buisness still by then. They probably will be, but seeing as the company if it is making money is making very little and likely owes people money that is always a possibility. The game could end up sucking and tank and could very well be the death nail of TNA. Did you ever consider that?

So in every statement I make I must also put in "However, I could be completely wrong and the game might actually 'improve' in all the wrong areas and end up just being terrible."? Everyone has to put the complete antipode of what they truly believe as an asterisk at the end of their posts now? Wow, I didn't know that's how the world worked. Thank you for clarifying that and showing me that opinions are transmitted that way.*

*It should be noted that opinions may not actually be transmitted that way, and that in fact asterisks and self contradiction are not a staple in expressing opinions. It could go either way.

well I didn't see you say anywhere that it was an opinion, you spoke in facts. Fact is no one has actually played the game, therefore to state in certainties as you did, is flawed as are all your arguements

Compete on what? Sales? The number 4 franchise in all times sale will maybe, just maybe compete with a debuting game of a ratherly unknown company?

As for Kurt, he us just bitter, about everything. About getting fired, about being a pussy and not being able to do MMA.

Oh I see, so before an opinion is to be stated, it should first and foremost be expressed that the following is an opinion and not a fact, like HK-47 from Star Wars adding "Statement:" before everything. I failed to see any lawyer saying "In my opinion the defendant is guilty/innocent", but I guess I just wasn't listening hard enough. Thank you for showing me the light.*

*It should be noted that, in fact, this may not be how opinions are generally expressed. It should also be noted that there's a chance that I did in fact listen hard enough to believe that lawyers never use the expression 'in my opinion'. The truth could go either way.

Who's talking about lawyers? Lawyers don't say in my opinion because they have to believe that what they are saying as the truth. Just as Angle states as fact that the game will be the best. He didn't say in his opinion either because he wants people to believe it to be fact and not an opinion. Just as you try to convince all of us that your opinion is fact. It may have been your opinion but you don't express it as one, because you want everyone to believe what you believe. And yes that is my opinion... of course unlike your opinion I'm willing to bet more people will support mine over yours.

Kurt has a right to talk shit about Vince, WWE, their product, games, ect. Because Kurt has been there, he knows what a hell hole it is. He knows Vince is a prick, disrespecting his talents except the kiss assers (Flair, HBK, HHH, 'Tista, Cena just to name a few) So Kurt can say anything he wants, he's been through hell with him, now hes just telling the truth of what he had to go through. He gave everything to them, and they didn't do shizzle back.
