In an audio interview with the Between the Ropes radio show (link), Kurt Angle had a lot to say about Bobby Lashley's future, major changes coming to TNA starting next month and fighting Randy Couture in an MMA style match this summer. Here are the highlights:

-- When asked about the possibility of Bobby Lashley coming to TNA, Kurt said, “I’m not going to say anything, but be ready for anything. Be ready for a big surprise... Whatever he does, it’s going to make big press. Let’s just that I’m really excited about the direction that Bobby Lashley is going.â€

-- He and Samoa Joe will have a mixed martial arts match at the Lockdown pay-per-view. “We’re going to have an MMA style match at the pay-per-view and this is the beginning of what TNA is going to start doing.â€

-- He added, “Joe and I are actually putting a hell of a a match together that is going to be very much MMA oriented. It’s going to be inside a cage. I don’t even think we’re wearing shoes. We’re going to tape our ankles. We’re going to be putting on the gloves.†He said he and Joe are trying to show up the Floyd Mayweather vs. Big Show match.

-- Angle said he and Randy Couture have agreed to fight in a legit MMA-style match this summer. He didn't specify which promotion they'll work for or what type of match they're going to have.

-- Angle has spoken to all the big MMA companies about coming in but none of them have offered him the right amount of money except Dana White. Angle said other companies have offered him stock in their companies, part of the PPV buys - Angle says he just wants the cash. The problem with UFC is they would make him quit wrestling, which does not want to do.

I am not sure I will enjoy Angle vs Joe in a MMA match. Just keep it simple. And if Angle is right, and TNA is turning more into a MMA company, meh, that's just stupid.

I am not even going to comment about them trying to show up Mayweather vs Big Show..., hey, speaking of Big Show, didn't Kurt Angle say he was practically in TNA a while back, the same with Jericho, the same with Brock, now Lashley. Angle is so random.

No offense CMS, but don't believe this that much. I mean Couture is very picky about who he fights at this stage of his career, and out of everyone I seriously doubt he would agree to fight Kurt Angle.

I am all for Couture though, he has a great clothing line

LOl, why would I be offended, I just posted the news I found. IMO, anything that comes out of Angle's mouth at this point is either completely stupid(WWE is slightly beating TNA in ratings), whining(see his last interview about HHH/HBK) or just incoherences.

If they have an MMA fight in a steel cage that might be the most Blue thing that TNA has ever done. I absolutely hate it when they have matches that aren't wrestling matches, they always end up sucking. I agree with This Guy there is no way that they would do that, it would be completely idiotic.

As far as Lashley goes, whatever. I don't believe anything that anyone from TNA says as far as bringing in talent. As said above they claimed to have Jericho and all these other people, I'll believe when I see it. Quite honestly though they can have Lashley, I've never liked him so I'd be perfectly fine with them taking him as long as he never comes back to the WWE lol.

I swear Angles interviews get more random and strange every time I read them. I agree with everyone else that said the Couture fight won't happen. I'd be shocked if it did and quite honestly if it does happen Angle will probably get embarrassed.

Anyway, this is absolutely no chance that Randy Couture is going to fight Angle. And as for Angle vs Joe being mma style, the guy is being a moron. Somebody who heard the interview said Angle also said that Joe wouldn't be on tv for three weks, because Angle said he would be preparing for an mma style match. So according to Angle. TNA are NOT going to try to hype the match, they are just going to pout the two together in an mma style match. This is why nobody listens to Kurt Angle.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that one bought wrestling PPV's to watch wrestling.

Hell, you know what? I might not be terribly annoyed if this was a mid-card match. But the fact that its the main event would be a total rip-off.

Angle referred to the Big Show-Floyd Mayweather WrestleMania showdown as a “clown match” due to the size differential between both men and feels that many TNA supporters will be on hand for WWE’s premier event of the year. “When they have their Pay-Per-View down in Orlando, a lot of fans are going to be chanting, ’TNA!’ That’s our territory.” The gold medalist believes that his Lockdown match with Samoa Joe will outperform the Mayweather-Show clash and said TNA’s goal is to compete with WWE by placing emphasis on in-ring ability.

I'll be surprised if someone actually chants TNA at Wrestlemania. And Kurt, that is a big goal to reach, outperform Show vs Mayweather, lol

Kurt Angle is just going crazy. I don't believe anything he says anymore. Not about Lashley, not about the MMA fight at Lockdown. And if TNA does go through with the MMA style match at Lockdown, it'll be the stupidest thing ever. I mean, TNA isn't MMA, TNA is wrestling. They shouldn't try to be something they're not, because IMO, they'll just lose fan base.
