Andy Ogle meets Charles Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 36 in Brazil
England will take on Brazil in a featherweight matchup when the UFC heads to Brazil in February.
A bout between Andy Ogle (9-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) and Charles Oliveira (16-4 MMA, 4-4 UFC) is the latest addition to February’s UFC Fight Night 36 fight card.
UFC officials announced the new bout on Wednesday night.
“UFC Fight Night 36: Machida vs. Mousasi†takes place Feb. 15 at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The event’s main card airs live on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on MMAjunkie. It’s not clear where Ogle vs. Oliveira will be placed on the lineup.
Ogle will be trying to bounce back after a unanimous decision loss to Cole Miller a month ago at UFC Fight Night 30 in Manchester, England, not far from his Liverpool home base. He’ll be fighting outside of Europe for the first time and will be looking for his second UFC victory. The “TUF 15″ contestant got his first UFC win in February against Josh Grispi.
Oliveira is coming off a “Fight of the Night†performance at UFC 162 in July. Unfortunately for him, it didn’t also come with a win bonus attached. He dropped a hard-fought decision to former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. In September 2012, Oliveira was knocked out by Cub Swanson, putting him on a two-fight skid and making a win look awfully important in front of his home crowd in Brazil.
With the addition, the latest UFC Fight Night 36 lineup now includes:
