This is no surprise to me as Anderson Silva has been the single most dominate performer in UFC history. Hell, the man has never lost a fight in the company. I'm hoping to see some more dream matches in his last few fights, because this man putting his streak of wins on the line is money in the bank.
Though there was never any real doubt, it looks like UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva will indeed finish his career inside the Octagon after agreeing to a deal putting him back inside the eight-sided cage up to ten more times. The contact is expected to play out over a three-year period meaning Silva will be in his early 40s when it expires.
UFC President Dana White confirmed the news at the post-event festivities attached to UFC 155, joking that the lengthy agreement was a rare move by the UFC but, “I’ll give him a 100-fight deal if he wants one.â€
White has also stated Silva is still interested in fights against Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones, adding that “The Spider†is open to defending his title against Michael Bisping as well assuming the Brit gets by Vitor Belfort in a few weeks at UFC on FX 7.
