Following on from Crimson's thread a couple of weeks ago - Wrestlers with the Most Wins in 2017 - I decided to look at the 2017 PPV performance of the five wrestlers in that WWE article (Seth, AJ, Sasha, Roman & Finn). Life got in the way so I wasn't able to look into it until yesterday, but now it's done, and here are the results (Preshow matches count - there is only one: Sasha vs. Alicia at TLC):
The 5 in Order of Most 2017 PPV Wins:
Seth - 6
Sasha - 5
Finn - 4
Roman - 4
AJ - 3
The 5 in Order of Best Win % in 2017 PPVs:
Finn - 80% (4/5)
Seth - 75% (6/8)
Sasha - 55.6% (5/9)
Roman - 40% (4/10)
AJ - 30% (3/10)
The Above but Not Including Multiman Matches (Tags count, just not more than 2 teams or an imbalance between the teams e.g. TLC 3v5 match):
Finn - 100% (3/3)
Sasha - 83.3% (5/6)
Seth - 83.3% (5/6)
Roman - 50% (3/6)
AJ - 42.9% (3/7)
The Same but Only Including Singles Matches with no Stipulations (so "Pure" 1v1 matches):
Finn - 100% (3/3)
Sasha - 80% (4/5)
Roman - 75% (3/4)
Seth - 66.7% (2/3)
AJ - 42.9% (3/7)
The most interesting I found doing this (and there are a lot of interesting things) is that clearly most of AJ's 26 wins came from TV, not PPV, when compared to the others in the top 5 wins of 2017.
If you would like me to tell you more about the statistics I have compiled, or are interested in other statistics that you would like me to investigate, feel free to mention so in the comments
