Alptekin Ozkilic welcomes flyweight Louis Smolka to octagon at UFC Fight Night 35
A flyweight matchup between “The Turkish Delight,†Alptekin Ozkilic, and “Da Last Samurai,†Louis Smolka, is the latest addition to next month’s UFC Fight Night 35 event.
UFC officials recently announced the new booking.
Featuring a Luke Rockhold vs. Constantinos Philippou headliner, UFC Fight Night 35 takes place Jan. 15 at Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga. The night’s main card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1, with prelims streaming on the UFC’s soon-to-launch digital network.
The night’s bout order has yet to be revealed, but Ozkilic (9-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) vs. Smolka (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is expected to feature on the night’s preliminary card.
Ozkilic made his UFC debut earlier this month, replacing an injured John Moraga against Darren Uyenoyama at UFC on FOX 9. Ozkilic was up to the challenge, earning a split decision win over the veteran and boosting his overall win streak to four fights. In 10 career outings, Ozkilic’s lone loss came to current UFC fighter Chico Camus.
Meanwhile, Hawaiian Smolka turned pro less than two years ago but has already earned six stoppage wins, including four by submission and two via TKO. His past four fights took place under the Pacific Xtreme Combat banner.
