Alex Caceres meets Sergio Pettis at UFC on FOX 10 in Chicago
A bantamweight matchup between the man better known as “Bruce Leeroy,†Alex Caceres (9-5 MMA, 4-3 UFC), and Sergio Pettis (10-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is the latest addition to next month’s UFC on FOX 10 event.
The booking was first reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and was later confirmed by UFC officials.
UFC on FOX 10 takes place Jan. 25 at United Center in Chicago. The main card, including a lightweight headliner between former UFC champ Benson Henderson and former Strikeforce titleholder Josh Thomson, will air on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and MMAjunkie.
The placement of the Caceres vs. Pettis fight wasn’t officially announced but will likely take place on the evening’s preliminary card.
Caceres is a former cast member of “The Ultimate Fighter 12†who made his UFC debut in 2011 and struggled through his first four fights with just a 1-3 mark. However, he’s since rebounded with a three-fight winning streak that includes victories over Roland Delorme, Motonobu Tezuka and Damacio Page. During that stretch, he also earned a decision win over Kyung Ho Kang that was overturned when Caceres tested positive for marijuana.
Pettis, the younger brother of UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, made his UFC debut in November, earning a hard-fought decision win over Will Campuzano. Pettis is undefeated through the first 10 fights of his career, and seven of those wins have come by way of stoppage.
