Albert Tumenov vs. Anthony Lapsley added to UFC Fight Night 40 in Cincinnati
May’s UFC Fight Night 40 event has a 13th addition to the fight card, officials announced late Tuesday.
A welterweight bout between Albert Tumenov (12-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Anthony Lapsley (22-6 MMA, 0-1 UFC) is slated for the card.
UFC Fight Night 40 takes place May 10 at Cincinnati’s U.S. Bank Arena. The bulk of the card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
Tumenov vs. Lapsley will likely be part of the preliminary card.
Tumenov recently made his promotional debut following an eight-fight winning streak (that included seven knockouts) in his native Russia. However, at UFC Fight Night 36, he suffered a decision loss to Ildemar Alcantara.
Lapsley, meanwhile, made his long-awaited UFC debut in November. The EliteXC and Bellator veteran was on an 8-1 run, which earned him a UFC contract. However, in his promotional debut at UFC 167, he dropped a decision to Jason High.
The latest UFC Fight Night 40 card includes:
