At this point, we wouldn't be shocked if "American Idol" has reached out to you, dear reader, to judge the next season's competition. This list of "maybes" just keeps growing longer.
One day it's Nick Jonas, then it's Nicki Minaj, then it's Brad Paisley or Keith Urban or Kanye West. And now, Alanis Morissette tells us that she, too, has had a conversation about sitting at that table.
While attending her Hollywood Rockwalk induction ceremony in Hollywood on Tuesday, Morissette said that she's talked about the possibility, but declined to get into details.
"Yes, I have been in conversations about it, and that's the degree to which I can share the info right now," Morissette told CNN. But, she added, she is open to the idea of being an "Idol" judge.
"I live to mentor, so my heart is much more open to the idea of that than even 10 years ago when I, perhaps, wasn't in a position to be able to offer much advice, solicited or otherwise," the singer continued. "ut I love watching people and just getting really curious about what they want and what they need and what their goals are, and then I can support them. I would do it formally, for sure."
Being as how apparently Mariah doesn't want Minaj on the panel, this would probably be the safer option for the execs to keep Mariah happy.
