We have all complained about the goofball character that AJ Styles had for the past year, but now it seems that the old AJ Styles is back! Last night on iMPACT! he threw away the crown, he told Tomko he wanted to be his own man and nobody can boss him around anymore, and he basically turned face because of that beatdown. And if that isn't enough, he is fueding with Kurt Angle which is a dream match for me and I really can't wait to see it. I'm happy that AJ Styles' is back to his old self, and I hope he stays like this for a long time

Thoughts?

I'm glad he's a face again, but my only fear is this... As a heel, he finally developed some personality. I'm hoping that him turning face doesn't mean that he'll go back to the being the dude that stumbled through his promos in the past.

When AJ stood up to Tomko backstage, I didn't know what they were doing, but thing that sealed the deal was throwing the piece of crap crown into the crowd, AJ Styles is finally back. Not the Prince of Phenomenal, but the original Phenomenal AJ Styles. They are building Joe up as the Champion and this is the start to build AJ up as the challenger, I really like the angle they did last night, now it lights the fire under Styles even more. Yea, now he can do the Styles Clash, first good thing TNA has done in several months.

His promos have really improved since his last face run, I'm sure they'll be even better for this one

I remember the old AJ Styles, he didn't need promos, he just was sick in the ring. Only guy I know that can slide under the fan barricade and stand up on the other side. AJ won't need promos with Karen behind him.

^^Karen is better than expected on the mic, but I doubt she'll be cutting promos for AJ. In fact, I don't see her being in TNA for much longer (Probably until the end of the Styles/Angle feud). And I don't want to take anything away from Styles in-ring talent. But let's be honest, a wrestler NEEDS to be able to talk on the mic in order to be successful, regardless of how good they might bein the ring.

And from what I've read, its safe to assume that everyone who watched Impact at least smiled a bit when AJ threw the crown away.

Yea SP, that was definitely one of those moments that everyone wanted to see, but knew it wasn't going to happen because TNA was really hung up on the Angle Alliance and all that crap with the Prince of Phenomenal, it was unexpected and much anticipated to say the least, I am just glad it happened.

Off topic, I thought Booker was going to steal the crown if AJ kept it on. He would put it on and continue acting like King Booker, you saw him tweeking backstage, it's only a matter of time.

^^That's another thing that's bothering me. Booker is throwing out not so subtle hints of him going back to the King Booker gimmick. Obviously, he will be part of the KING of the Mountain Match. Since Joe has been champ, the ratings have been going down, and I hope that this doesn't mean that Booker will win the KoTM and reign over TNA as King Booker.

King Booker is the only way Booker T knows how to be heel...

However, due to those coincedences SP, I have to change the subject back to AJ Styles or else I am going to get super pissed, TNA ruining Booker T, omg.

Yea, so who is Styles going to be fueding with, Tomko and Kurt Angle, or each of them separately?

The big money is with an Angle/Styles feud. HOWEVER, I think that he should worry about Tomko for the time being. Once again, Angle is NOT healthy and even if he can go at Slammiversary, he probably won't be at his best. So I would book Tomko vs Styles for Slammiversary (This gives Kurt more time to heal). Tomko could win the match due to Kurt Angle's help which would add more fuel to the Styles-Angle feud without Angle wrestling.

Maybe have a rematch on the following Impact with Styles beating Tomko, and then after that he can go after Angle. They could extend the Angle-Styles feud until October, and have the blow-off match at Bound For Glory (Preferably inside the Six Sides of Steel).

Another bonus from this, is that it would keep Angle out of the title scene for the next couple of months, and give other wrestlers a chance to shine at the top.

AJ vs. Tomko at Slammiversary would be giving Tomko a decent push as well giving him a huge one on one match at a PPV. TNA really draws out their big matches so I don't expect on seeing AJ vs Angle for awhile, they would do tag matches and stuff like that with AJ and Kurt, but not having them one on one. But you're right, AJ vs Kurt would probably be larger than Angle vs. Joe, just because of the athleticism of AJ Styles that TNA has been hiding for awhile now, once they unleash him in the ring with Kurt Angle everyone will piss their pants seeing what AJ is capable of.

Keep in mind, keeping Angle out of the title hunt is good, but that also beens keeping Styles out as well, my dream is seeing AJ TNA Champ one more time.

I want to see Styles as the TNA champion, but I'm thinking of things in the long-term. Styles could ultimately win the feud with Tomko, and with Angle. This woud give him a ton of momentum which could propel him to... wait for it... THE TNA TITLE!

I would think if AJ wasn't fueding with Angle for the title, that would only leave Joe to fued with and that would be the greatest fued ever.

The thing with TNA now is that the heels are overpowering the faces. I mean even Joe was tweeking in the ring putting Nash down, AJ looks to be building up as the biggest face in TNA now.

I practically jumped off my couch when he threw that stupid crown away. Thank God the guy really is the most talented guy on the roster. He needs to do the Styles Clash AND the Fosbury Flop from now on...
