That shit would be insane. Miles better than Brock/Goldberg. I do feel like Shawn could easily still put on a great match, ESPECIALLY if it's against AJ Styles. Adding this to my list of dream matches that I never thought of, would love to see it happen.

My immediate assumption is that this is some sort of heel tactic to tease fans about a match that won't really happen in order to create heat. That perhaps AJ will end up belittling Michaels much in the way that Miz was doing with Daniel Bryan. So then if AJ is still World champion at the Rumble, Michaels might be in the corner of his opponent in order to get the San Antonio crowd behind him.

I could be wrong and often am but that is my immediate reaction.

Yeah I was thinking he may end up reffing a match. I can't see him doing a full blown match anymore. He'd have to be too careful.

I could see Shawn being able to work just one more match. If it was against aj styles, not only would it be awesome, but it'd be easy for Shawn to work with him.

You book that match at mania.... I would prob shit myself and nearly die.

Holy crap yes!

That would sell the hell out of Alamo Dome! BOOK IT!

Or maybe start the feud at Rumble and end it at WM, oh man that would be so ridiculously awesome. Come on Shawn, you know you want to!

I tend to think Shawn could work another match. Yeah, it's been a long time. But he's only 51. And there have been plenty of wrestlers who have put on spectacular matches into their 50s. I know there seems to be this idea going around that a wrestler in his 40s is too old and should only be wrestling part time, but that opinion generally shows a complete naivety of the wrestling business and of the aging process. Terry Funk and Ric Flair both had some good matches in their later years (albeit much rarer than their earlier work).

Michaels has the disadvantage of having not wrestled a match in over 6 years. However if he is still in as decent shape as he was at WrestleMania, I could see him putting in the work between now and then to get ready to put on an awesome match.

That being said, I doubt it is going to happen. I think he'll play a role in some way, but I just don't think working a match will be it. He hasn't really seemed as interested in getting back into the ring as a lot of retired wrestlers seem to. I think he is more than happy to play a character role in some way and possibly super kick AJ after the match... but I don't see him wrestling another match.

HBK could work another match, but could he go back to being retired afterwards? Idk, it seems to me he'd get hooked to wrestling again because he loves it so much and wouldn't be able to leave then. But, I could be wrong.

Anyways, I couldn't agree more with the bolded part of your post. Spot on, brother.
