Melvin Guillard meets Fabricio 'Morango' Camoes at UFC 148 in Las Vegas
After back-to-back losses, veteran UFC lightweight Melvin Guillard (29-10-2 MMA, 10-6 UFC) will look to right the ship against Fabricio "Morango" Camoes (14-6-1 MMA, 1-1-1 UFC) at UFC 148.
Officials recently announced the fight.
UFC 148 takes place July 7 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz headlines the event opposite fellow "The Ultimate Fighter: Live" coach Urijah Faber.
UFC 148's main card airs on pay-per-view, and FX carries the prelims.
Guillard vs. Camoes likely will be part of the prelims.
Guillard, who first joined the UFC after appearing on "The Ultimate Fighter 2," recently climbed into title contention with consecutive victories over Ronys Torres, Waylon Lowe, Jeremy Stephens, Evan Dunham and Shane Roller. However, he faltered in a 47-second submission loss to Joe Lauzon at UFC 136 and then followed it up with a first-round submission defeat to Jim Miller in January's UFC on FX 1 headliner.
The fighter, who recently joined the Blackzilians fight camp, now is in a must-win situation against Camoes, who's a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt with noted submission skills. Camoes went winless in his first two UFC fights (a draw with Caol Uno and a submission defeat to Kurt Pellegrino). Since then, though, he's picked up consecutive victories over Steve Lopez (knockout) and Efrain Escudero (decision) in outside competition, as well as Tommy Hayden (submission) upon his UFC return at UFC on FX 1.
The latest UFC 148 card includes:

Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz
Michael Bisping vs. Tim Boetsch
Renan Barao vs. Ivan Menjivar
Fabricio Camoes vs. Melvin Guillard
