Fightful Select reports that AEW has been considering a unification match of two of the company’s singles titles, which could happen at All In: Texas. According to the report, there have been several pitches over the last several months to unify the Continental and International championships.

At this time, Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita are the Continental and International champions, respectively. However, when asked about the unification match betwen Okada and Kenny Omega (who faces Takeshita at Revolution), it was noted that there were “numerous pitches” for this to happen and there was “plenty of credibility” given to the idea.

I absolutely hate this idea. Not because I don’t think they need one less singles title because they do but I think the TNT title is the title that needs to go away not only is that belt fucking hideous but I think it’s the least credible belt that they have currently.

That being said if they are insistent on keeping that dreadful title, then you need to keep the international title.

Wouldn’t be against the idea.

There’s already a mid card title. You don’t need 2.

You also don’t need a situation where the Champion defends his title in a tournament to face a Challenger

I do agree with Smark that the TNT looks worse than the Continental, but the Continental is the belt I constantly don't understand the purpose of and I think that tournament should be for a title shot instead of anyway

I don’t even disagree with the purpose of the belt itself, but I do think Okada makes his belt mean something with his matches I guess but I do agree that the tournament should just be a title shot at Revolution.

He does, it's really just around tournament time that I'm wondering where Tony got this title concept idea from.

Also agreed on revolution, that's always been my timeline too. It'll make the tournament a bigger deal if the challenger has a set date months down the line, you can still have title matches, it's the same concept as when WWE will switch the title between Mania and the Rumble. Shouldn't happen all the time but can be an option every few years to shake it up

Exactly. Plus the gap between worlds end and revolution is the only one with three months off of pay-per-view so might as well use that three months to build your main event from the worlds end to revolution build a really big deal title match where someone had to earn it similar to the royal rumble.
