Westin Blake, No Way Jose debut at AEW Dark Universal Studios tapings
As is the case with AEW Dark tapings at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, there are usually several debuts and returns with
Sunday's six hours of action being no different.
Both former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Westin Blake (fka Wesley Blake) and No Way Jose made their AEW debuts in the second session.
A former tag team partner of Steve Maclin (fka Steve Cutler), Blake was released in April 2021. Since then, he was worked several times for the Control Your Narrative promotion in addition to Pro Wrestling Revolver and Texas indie RCW.
Released by WWE in May 2020, Jose (Levy Valenz) worked seven matches for Impact in 2021. Going into Sunday, he had wrestled just twice this year -- both times in July for DEFY Wrestling.
VSK now part of Trustbusters
The Trustbusters faction continues to grow, now featuring the "Trust Butler" played by VSK. He is now going by JV-SK (Jeeves Kay) and debuted in the corner of the group during a trios match in the first session and then getting into action himself in the second session.
The indie standout is winless in seventeen matches for AEW dating back the fall of 2020.
Other notes:
- Bear Country also got new names and are going by The Iron Savages. They also got a new manager in JT Davidson.
- The WorkHorsemen (JD Drake & Anthony Henry) are going to get some run as a tag team as Drake said that while he is good with the Wingmen, it's time to focus on his longtime tag team with Henry.
- Kayla Rossi, Zack Clayton, AR Fox, Caleb Konley and Madison Rayne all were in singles action.
Sunday's six hours of action also saw the renaming of three wrestlers.
