The "forbidden door" appears to be open to a working relationship between AEW and Japanese women's promotion Stardom.

In this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that there has "been communication" between the two sides and while there is no arrangement as of now, "we're told to expect something."

Meltzer noted that Stardom is interested in having some of AEW's talents work there including Toni Storm who has shown interest in wrestling there.

"We were told to expect some stuff to happen," he wrote without providing any specific details as what that stuff would be.

Stardom is owned by Bushiroad, the same company that owns New Japan Pro Wrestling. That, of course, is the same promotion that just completed a very successful Forbidden Door co-promoted pay-per-view with AEW.

AEW has been no stranger to co-promotions in the past, working with NJPW, Impact Wrestling, AAA and NWA. However, this would be the first time they would be aligning with an all-women's promotion, potentially giving the opportunity for Stardom's top stars to appear with AEW women and vice versa.

Mayu Iwatani and Kairi in AEW :garrett

Toni Storm back in Stardom sounds awesome, I think that would get me to check it out more often as well

Toni Storm I imagine has unfinished business with Stardom in her mind. She was Red Belt Champion their World Champion for Stardom and she was given the Championship via injury when Mayu Iwatani destroyed her Elbow. She never got the big Title run I think she wanted for Stardom because she left for a few Months as Champion working with other places and by the time she comes back to Stardom they had her losing the Red Belt to Kagetsu which is one my favorite Joshi Matches of all time. So getting her back would be great and seeing some of the younger talent from both Rosters testing their skills is a win win for both Companies. Stardom has some heavy hitters if Syuri shows for AEW let me tell you the AEW Women's Division RIP that lady doesn't play around. Let someone like Britt Baker, or Jade do all that talking Syuri is going to kick their heads off :lol

I think we all know who I am happy about maybe seeing in AEW, but I hope the members of Stardom who make a trip over are given some time to have a hint of a spotlight and have their characters introduced.
