The "forbidden door" appears to be open to a working relationship between AEW and Japanese women's promotion Stardom.
In this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that there has "been communication" between the two sides and while there is no arrangement as of now, "we're told to expect something."
Meltzer noted that Stardom is interested in having some of AEW's talents work there including Toni Storm who has shown interest in wrestling there.
"We were told to expect some stuff to happen," he wrote without providing any specific details as what that stuff would be.
Stardom is owned by Bushiroad, the same company that owns New Japan Pro Wrestling. That, of course, is the same promotion that just completed a very successful Forbidden Door co-promoted pay-per-view with AEW.
AEW has been no stranger to co-promotions in the past, working with NJPW, Impact Wrestling, AAA and NWA. However, this would be the first time they would be aligning with an all-women's promotion, potentially giving the opportunity for Stardom's top stars to appear with AEW women and vice versa.
