it's a weird way to get there but they are the ones paying so meh. fwiw, I'm sure especially USA can make a similar argument that people turn on RAW at 8pm and leave the channel on until they pass out, hence why they value having that every Monday

also recently learned that ONE nielsen box is like 40 000k add or drop, so it's a more ridiculous system than I had imagined lol

I'm not sure how that stuff works anymore either bc like I know Youtube TV views are counted somehow just bc I had to opt in to having my viewership counted with Nielsen. I know they still take a sample and extrapolate it out as an estimation but no fucking clue how the sample is generated anymore with streaming live TV being a thing and at least partially counting
