The scene opens in a dark, old gym in downtown Chicago. There's not much to the place, just a old dusty ring, a few punching bags, and weights set out throughout the area. Sitting in the ring in a grey sweat suit is a older man probably in his late 50's. The door opens and he turns his attention to his new guest.

Old Man: What do you want boy, thought you didn't need my help anymore, thought that you knew it all, that you were ready to beat the best?

Eric Snow: Well it appears I was a bit wrong on that.

Snow looks to the ground with a almost ashamed looked that he is back home asking for help. The old man stands up and leans on the ring ropes getting ready to address Snow.

Old Man: DAMN RIGHT! Admiting you've been a jackass is the first step to getting back on track boy. Your prob is you peaked to damn early. You beat some guys, won a title, and had this thought in you mind that you pissed gold, and shit diamonds. Your not better than me or any other man and that's something you need to understand.

Snow with his head down the whole time looks up and begins to make his way into the ring getting nose to nose with the old man.

Eric Snow: I know what I did, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm one of the best.......just lost my way a bit. Concentrated a little to much on fun and games and not nearly enough time on what I should of been doing. I'm not going to change who I am though.....let's be honest I'm a cocky prick. But I know I've got to tone it down a bit and concentrate on evolving in the ring.

The old man cracks a huge smile, as he is pleased with what he's hearing from Snow. A small smirk also comes across Snow's face as it appears he has made the grumpy old man happy for once.

Old Man: See you got Syn this week so your going to need all the help you can get, but I need your full commitment. No booze, no women, no late nights just blood and sweet and this ring with me until I think your ready. Can you handle that boy?

Eric Snow: You have my word, I'm ready to take the next step.......but can you do me a favor and stop calling me boy?

Old Man: I forgot that always pissed you off BOY! I guess in here I can call you son.

Eric Snow: I'd appreciate that.........Dad.

Old Man: Well isn't that special looks like we just had a hallmark moment. If your going to cry do it now cause we got work to do.

Eric Snow: I'm not going to cry pops, but it's pretty obvious where I get my cocky attitude from.

Old Man: Only thing is I earned the right to be a prick, and I'm the prick that going to help you win a world title. Enough of the talking, eat the locker room, get dressed and get ready for hell.

The scene opens up in the backstage area of The KFC Yum! Center of Louisville, Kentucky, where an event for a local wrestling promotion takes place. A crowd of wrestlers are seen gathered around a monitor, watching the main event: Kai vs Harrison Andrews (c) in a non title bout. Standing not to far from the large group of wrestlers was Kai's older brother, Syn, wearing a Black label Society t-shirt, faded jeans, and a pair of sun glasses, whom was also gazing at the monitor in curiosity as the match went on. Syn kept his distance as he watched his brother try and rip Andrews' arm off.

---------------------------------------------------{ In The Ring}--------------------------------------------------------------------

Kai is stalking Andrews' as he staggered back to his feet off the Released German Suplex, looking to end the match right then and there. Andrews' turns around and right into Kai, who grabs his arm and forces him to the ground, before locking in the Crossface! The Opponent screams in pain, trying desperately to reach the ropes, but Kai just applies more pressure to the hold. He reaches out once more for the ropes, trying everything in his power to break the hold. Suddenly, Andrews' rolled over and sent Kai flying out of the ring!

---------------------------------------------------[Backstage]------------------------------------------------------------------

Syn stayed for another 10 minutes, before shaking his head and leaving as the reigning World Champion took the DQ loss by shoving the referee to the ground after a near fall.

Syn: (muttering) The smarmy little ponce always did enjoy taking the easiest way out of a situation possible.

Syn walked to Kai's locker room and waited for his younger brother's arrival. no less than 5 minutes later, Kai stormed into his locker room, before coming to a stop as he noticed his older brother sitting in a chair, all traces of anger now forgotten.

Syn: If its any constilation, Kai, you did have him beat fairly without him running from you.

Kai hissd in anger as he is reminded of what just took place.

Kai: 3 times. 3 times in this one match I had this arrgant little fool beaten, and he takes the cowards way out and intentionally gets himself disqualified. If it weren't for that, I would have been the clear, cut victor.

Syn gives a sardonic smile at Kai's claim.

Syn: your confidence in your ability is admirable.

Kai: What good is it if you know you’re good when you don’t think you’re capable of defeating any adversary that stands before you?

Syn shrugs, agreeing with Kai’s logic, before Kai continued the conversation.

Kai: Not that don't appreciate the support, but I was under the impression the your employer was holding a press conference for Breaking Ground tonight.

Syn smirked, crossing his legs as he thought over his answer.

Syn: You are indeed right, Kai. Miss Phoenix did indeed inform the roster that there would be an important press conference tonight. (Syn picked up a roll of atheletic tape and begins tossing it up in the air lightly and catching it)

Kai started untaping his hands as he sat down next to Syn

Kai:She also mentioned something about it being manditory for anyone involved in the main event to appear.

Syn suddenly stops palying with the tape and looks over at Kai, his smirk widening.

Syn: She says many things, my dear brother, but I think it best for all parties if I just decided to not listen. In the end, its MUCH more fun that way.

Kai rose a brow at the comments, but decided not to say anything. He knew more than anyone about his brother's love of openly defying an authorit figure. It's something Syn always does at one point or another in whatever promotion he's been in, just to get a reaction out of whoever it is he's defying. He was broken out of his thoughts as Syn began speaking again.

Syn: As fun as our short little....family renuion, has been, I need to ask something about someone. Normally, I would figure it out on my own, but I need a second oppinion, so to speak.(Syn pauses as Kai gives Syn his attention) I want to know what you think, skill wise, about Eric Snow.

Kai gave Syn a strange look, before grabbing a nearby towel to wipe off his face-paint.

Kai: The one who calls himself "The X-Factor", is he not? (Syn nods) He's obviously skilled, Probably as much as you if I remember correctly. Why do you ask?

Syn give a small smirk, before he continues playing with the tape.

Syn: I ask because I have him next week o the, uh, go home show before the pay-per-view, and I wanted to be assured he's as good as BOTH he and I think he is.

Kai gave Syn a smirk that was very similar to his own.

Kai: it seems as though you rate him highly.

Syn gave a shrug.

Syn: Not as highly as he rates himself, but yes, I do admire the boy's ability. You see, the last time he and I were in a ring, he lost. He lost, but only because he and I both had the unfortunate luck of being booked in a tag team match, and his luck with tag partners was worse than mine. This time, there are no distractions, and nothing holding either of us back, Kai. I want to see up close and personal if all of the rumors that were spawned in the old company of Snow being capable of de-throning me have any truth to them for myself.

Kai said nothing as Syn seemed to zone out, thinking of the match between himself and Snow, before he went off to finish getting ready to leave. 20 minutes later, Syn and Kai were in Syn’s car, a green and black Mustang GT, leaving the arena and into the distance as the scene fades to black.
