Adele Will Sing Something New in 2012
Finally, a guarantee Adele was truly kidding about that five-year hiatus: According to NME's account of a new interview with French radio station NRJ, 2012 will see a new tune from the singer, if not a new album. "There will be a new song, probably coming out at the end of the year," said the everlasting chart-destroyer. "But then it depends how quickly I write some other new songs." HitFix is speculating that the release could be the theme song for James Bond's next outing, Skyfall (set to drop November 9), an idea partially fueled by Adele's vow not to release her follow-up to 21 for "a good two years." If Adele does lend her pipes to 007's new theme, expect to hear a James Bond song getting more airplay than any James Bond song of all time. (Looking right at you, McCartney and Duran Duran. Not looking directly at you, Madonna and Sheryl Crowe.)
