Seems TNA had big plans for him. No doubt about it... he's a monster. This is what I'd like to see happen.

For years I've been saying "wrestling needs a new Abdullah The Butcher!" A guy that doesn't care about victories or titles... just leaving his opponent in a puddle of blood and always using foreign objects.
Joe was a great fit for that when "Nation of Violence" started but the marchetti was not believable. I'd like to see Abyss become a major heel... always using foreign objects and bloodying up his opponents.

Joe could fit that role too.

Any opinions?

Looks like they are pushing him pretty hard as a face. TNA has done this in the past, and normally ends up being the same result. i'm not really sure where this is going to lead this time. Certainly with Hogan backing you, it's a big push. Perhaps it's only be a big turn on Hogan by AByss, which would be cool. Now Abyss has the power of Hulkamania, against Hogan. Cheesy, but kinda a good idea.

Not sure if i need the whole bloody mess every time, but continue in his hardcore ways. Better off as a heel.

Abyss is the best character in TNA next to The Pope.

How? He just reminds me of a generic monster character, and how could you not include Wolfe in there too? Abyss is a better character than Wolfe? No fucking way. To be honest, I'd prefer if they did this push on like Hernandez or even Morgan (who can work the fucking mic).

Yeah. I think Joe would make a better blood thirsty "Abdullah The Butcher" type of wrestler.

LMAO, no.

The 'monster' gimmick has been done a million times before, he's not even original. On top of that, they've made Abyss a fucking pussy, being all shy and shaking and OMG HOGAN I AM SOOOO SORRY, GIVE ME ONE MORE CHANCE, I WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY. A pussy ass 'monster'? How stupid.

He should be a destructible monster that people fear, not a fat wuss.

Abyss use to be a true monster but they made him to be such a joke with him not wanting to hit Mick Foley with the Barbwire and shit. I remember a few years ago he would've just skinned Mick Foley open with that barbed wire. James Mitchell his former manager must be rolling his eyes watching this shit.

This thread just got me thinking about something! We all see Hogan as face and Bishoff as heel but what if?...What if the exact opposite is true? What if Hogan really wants Abyss to help convert TNA into a religious cult and is really a heel in disguise??...and Bishoff, despite what we have seen of him so far, ends up being the only one anybody can trust.

One thing I noticed in a lot of his press conferences, is that Hogan mentions
his spirtuality and God a lot. What if Hogans true agenda is to convert TNA into warriors for Scientology?. On the surface we see Hulkamania , behind the scenes however...out of control fanaticism! A very slow calulated and gradual metamorphisis from Hulkster to cult leader

If this type of storyline played out, then we could see a way for Abyss to turn heel with there being too much confusion.

Hogan doesn't have the balls to use Scientology in an angle like that. Scientology is very litigious and sue anyone who try to put them in a bad light. Besides, Hogan is a non-denom Christian & it would probably make more sense for him to have a Jim Jones or David Koresh persona if they were to do an angle that lame. Where would an angle like that go?! Who the hell would be his opposition, Jarrett, Foley & Bischoff? How would Abyss fit in, as Hogan's 1st Horseman of the Apocalypse, WAR?

The easiest way to convert Abyss heel would be to have him become so powerful & unstoppable in his mind that he thinks he doesn't need Hogan at all, causing an inevitable match between them which Hogan realizes the monster he has awakened. It wouldn't surprise me if they do this down the road & it can work if you wanted Abyss face as well, you'd just have to turn Hogan into a heel, rather than the "business man" they currently have him as.

This is one of the dumbest ideas ever. If they get any kind of religion involved, fuck TNA.

I wouldn't be completely opposed to Abyss turning heel against Hogan in a one-time off squash match, where he just brutalizes the fuck out of him.
