Breslin Gets Spiritual In Haunter
Playing a ghost for Vincenzo Natali
Source: Variety

Abigail Breslin’s been really switching it up in terms of nabbing acting jobs at the moment. She's recently signed on to co-star with Halle Berry in The Hive and has just locked in a deal for supernatural mystery Haunter.

Cube / Splice director Vincenzo Natali is behind the new movie, which will see Breslin as Lisa, a teenage girl who dies under mysterious circumstances in 1986. But instead of being able to step beyond with the rest of her family, her ghost remains lingering in the house. And when another young girl living there in the present day is threatened, she must reach out and help.

While it sounds like it could be a blend of chills and sappy, feel-good bonding between a teenager and a ghost, the presence of Natali – working from a script by Brian Matthew King – gives us some hope.

He’s set to start shooting later this month in Toronto, which is where Breslin will head once she finishes up work on Ender’s Game, where she’s been playing the title character’s sister, Valentine. The Hive gig will follow after Haunter and she’s also got indie comedy Virgin Mary on her to-do list.

Another good young actress, but not sure this is a movie that will be intriguing enough for me to want to watch. I would rather watch Casper since it sounds similar to that in my eyes, but a PG-13 version.
