- AEW is dropped from TNT; WWE becomes a majority partner with the promotion
- AEW Invasion angle takes place on RAW and Smackdown, led by Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks. As with WCW before, AEW is portrayed in weak fashion. Much like the UWF and Jim Crockett Promotions, the AEW brand is dropped from WWE airwaves within three months of the angle starting. Jon Moxley, whose contract has expired is not a part of the angle and continues to wrestle in New Japan and do smaller scale films

- USA renews RAW for three years at the same price as present.
- Disney acquires the streaming rights to Smackdown for $425M for five years
