Rollins vs. Balor for the WWE Universal Championship (that name hasn't grown on me like I hoped it would have):
Early on in the night, we have the New Day defend the Tag Titles against Gallows and Anderson. By hook or by crook (and despite a returning, interfering Big E), Gallows and Anderson win the Tag Team Championship (they've played up the "we won these at SummerSlam and we're going to keep them" bit too much for me to think they're walking out with the titles).
In the main event, Balor comes out in full "Demon Mode" and goes at it with Rollins. Rollins controls the match, dominating Balor physically, cutting off his every comeback attempt. Balor makes a big comeback, almost wins, but Rollins counters at the last moment and, just when it seems inevitable, Anderson comes out of the crowd (can't have him come down the ramp or it'll spoil things) and helps Balor get a dusty win. Balor's the champion, but he "doesn't realize" Anderson helped him.
After the match, Rollins gets on the mic and bitches about being cheated. Balor acts confused, but it dawns on him when he sees Anderson and Gallows (who's come out now, too). Just when it looks like he might do something like ask for the match to be re-started or return the title (something super-babyfaceish), he takes Rollins down. SummerSlam goes off the air with Balor, Gallows, and Anderson holding their titles up in triumph over a prone Rollins.
Yes, I know it's somewhat similar to the Club helping Styles, but nothing's been said about Balor's history as part of the BC since he came to WWE. Balor's been a true-blue, over-the-top babyface since his arrival and people have griped about his lack of an edge. This makes him a heel in the traditional sense (sure, some people, me included, will still cheer for him because he, Styles, Gallows, Anderson, etc., are the type of heel we like) and it gives Rollins a legitimate gripe and a legitimate reason for the fans to get behind him (which they've been dying to do). Have Rollins denied by Stephanie at every turn (similar to what she did with Bryan and, more lately, Reigns...it'll work better with Rollins than it did with Reigns) and maybe even have her favor the Club (I mean, they do hold two of Raw's major titles, so...).
This would build to a title rematch at the next Raw PPV and you could drag this feud out until Survivor Series or after before you give Rollins a long face title run, which makes sense and the audience wants to see.
Just a few random thoughts on the topic on a Wednesday morning.
