If you are going to watch A New Begining in Sapporo, then ignore this thread because THIS is going to be major spoilers. I kept the title ambiguous for that reason.
Anyone who saw New Year's Dash after WrestleKingdom 12 saw some of the Bullet Club members, most notably Cody Rhodes, who lost to him the night before, attempt to attack Kota Ibushi, the former tag team partner of Kenny Omega. Soon after, he was laid out by Switchblade Jay White after Omega offered him membership in the group. This lead to the match from this show. Switchblade vs The Best Bout Machine.
The result? In a shocker, Jay White won the IWGP US Heavyweight Championship from the Cleaner, and after the match, members of the Bullet Club came out and this happened:
So, this whole thing was done masterfully and right now a lot of things are up in the air. With Hangman helping Cody attack Omega, yet the Bucks and Marty all refusing, this creates an interesting scenario. Kenny Omega is seemingly out of the stable he has been the "leader" of for the past two years, Cody could be a leader of the group now, and Omega has fully turned face reuniting with his old partner.
And before ANY of you say he's coming to the Royal Rumble tonight... stop. Omega's contract in New Japan lasts another year and his chances of going to the Royal Rumble is pretty much impossible, especially because he'd have to travel half-way across the world to Philadelphia and be there in time for the show. It's a 19-hour flight, deal with it.
So this angle now has a lot of intriguing sides to it. First of all, is Kenny Omega out of the Bullet Club? The only person to attack him is Cody Rhodes, and Hangman Page did help. Marty Scrull was there but didn't touch him, the Young Bucks were angry but didn't lay a finger on him. Not to mention there are people like the G.O.D, Bad Luck Fale, who wasn't there. And if Kenny is out and if Cody isn't the leader, who is? Then we need to factor in "The Elite" the sub faction with Omega and the Bucks. Not to mention "Being The Elite," we also need to ask if Kenny Omega is out of Bullet Club, will he be with any other of the New Japan factions or remain unaligned with the exception of his seemingly reunited partner?
I'm interested in what will come of this and want to know what you guys think, or if you can correct me on anything I got wrong. I'm still fairly new to New Japan and I do plan on trying to watch these shows eventually.
