WWE Raw House Show in Topeka, KS on September 29
AJ comes out to make an announcement, but Punk comes out to interrupt her before she can make the announcement. He reveals John Cena won’t be at the event and he is not dressed to compete tonight. AJ announces that Punk will not only wrestle the Big Show tonight, but he will face him in a cage. AJ then skips out of the ring. Justin Roberts announced that anyone who wishes to be refunded for the event may do so by the end of the second match.
Kane & Daniel Bryan defeat Kofi Kingston & R-Truth: They seemed to be trying some new bits for the match, so some may have gone a little too long for most of the audience taste. While coming out, Kofi slipped off the walkway, but landed on his feet and laughed about it. The rest of the wrestlers were careful walking down the walkway for the rest of the night.
Eve defeats Layla
Michael McGillicutty defeats Dean Ambrose
Brodus Clay defeats Damien Sandow: Damien Sandow makes a great heel and it’s noticeable that he’s being recognized because he would later come out to be apart of the end of two matches later.
Santino Marella defeats Tensai
Antonio Cesaro defeats Zack Ryder: The fan’s got to choose the type of match this would be and they overwhelmingly voted for the lumberjack match over the 2 out of 3 falls match. A brawl broke out among the lumberjacks towards the end and the faces chased out the heels, while leaving Damien Sandow to distract Zack Ryder. This lead to Cesaro hitting the Neutralizer.
CM Punk defeats Big Show: Big Show was popular with the crowd and got off some good mic work on CM Punk, as Punk did his extended “hold the belt up to the crowd” moment for about 3 minutes. CM Punk tried to escape the cage a lot early, only to get caught. CM Punk worked over the Big Show’s leg. As Punk was trying to escape the cage with one leg over the top and the Big Show holding the inside leg, Sandow came out with a Kendo stick and handed it to Punk. Punk hit Big Show a couple of times, Show pulled Punk back in, grabbed the stick and broke it over his leg. After a few near finishes, Sandow handed the WWE Championship to Punk through the house show cage opening and Punk hit Big Show with the belt for the pin. Sandow and Punk celebrated for a couple of minutes only to get double chokeslammed by Big Show. The two remained on the mat long after Big Show had left. Referees and staff then pulled the limp bodies of Sandow and Punk out of the ring. Sandow was rolled up the slick walkway. When he was at the top and the staff member walked away, Sandow then rolled all the way down with the staff member chasing him. Punk was pulled by his feet all the way to the top and to the back.
