So...2017 is off to a decent start...besides another Seth Rollins injury...but the
RAW Women's division continues to be a stagnant pool filled with 3 (or 4?) large fish.

While the SmackDown Women's division continues to share the spotlight between all
its performers and develop new talent like Alexa Bliss & Carmella...the RAW's Women's
division is now paying the price for focusing on only 2 women while everyone else faded
into the background or simply stopped appearing on TV for weeks at the time.

So...because I'm still laid up with a foot injury and I've got nothing better to do...I've decided
to create a list of the 8 Ways To "Fix" The RAW Women's Division.

#1: Intense Character Development:
Hearing poems Bayley wrote when she was a kid or having Alicia Fox cracking a Shit Fit
when her boyfriend dumps her is not cutting it. I know Bayley is happy to be in the WWE,
I know Charlotte wants to create her own legacy greater than her fathers, I know Nia Jax
doesn't "play well" with others...but give us something more WWE. Perhaps explore why
Nia Jax is the way she is...show us a different side to Bayley...show us the pressure
Charlotte puts on herself...show us that Dana Brooke has been lost without Emma...and
for God sake explain to me what Sasha is the Boss off.

These women are "playing" characters...so develop them.

#2: More TV Time:
Now RAW is a 3 hour show...and I understand there is a lot to fit in in those 3 hours...but
why does it seems SmackDown gets more done for their ladies with an hour less to work
with? The women on RAW need more time...even if it isn't in the ring. A classic example
was the recent vignette of the shopping trip Carmella and James Ellsworth went on. It was
short and simple (and fucking silly) but it allowed Carmella to be on SmackDown and develop
the current angle she is in with Ellsworth.

Perhaps something like that could be done for Dana Brooke and her upcoming bodybuilding
competition...or may-be a behind the scenes look at the pressure Sasha has been under
recently.

You can help these women as performers without having them in the ring every week.

#3: More Mixed Tag Team Matches:
Now recently there was a 6 "person" tag match with Bayley, Cesaro and Sheamus
taking on Charlotte, Gallows & Anderson...the Chumps vs. the Champs. These kind
of matches allow for match time for everyone and character and relationship
development. See the interaction between Cesaro and Bayley as an example of this.

The Cruiserweight division could also benefit from this kind of match...say...Noam Dar
& Alicia Fox vs. Cedric Alexander & Bayley. It allows for more division interaction and
hopefully helps all the performers involved develop as characters.

I can think of many other examples that could make for entertaining television:
Sasha Banks & Big Cass vs. Nia Jax & Braun Strowman...
Sasha Banks & Big Cass vs. Lana & Rusev...
Charlotte & Kevin Owens vs. Bayley & Braun Strowman...(lol)
Charlotte & Chris Jericho vs. Bayley & Sami Zayn...
Dana Brooke & Neville vs. Bayley & Jack Gallagher...

#4: Bring Back Emma(lina) & Tamina:
Nothing could help the division more than the return of some familiar faces.
Emmalina's debut is well overdue and Tamina appears to be the forgotten performer
of the entire women's division. Both these ladies would add a must needed boost
to the division and hopefully create some much needed excitement. I would also
add Summer Rae & Paige to this suggestion...but both are still recovering from
injuries and Paige...well...who the fucks knows what will happen with Paige.

#5: Call Up Liv Morgan from NXT:
I like Liv Morgan...she has "bounce" She's cute, likeable and while she looks like
Alexa Bliss & Carmella did the Dragonball Z fusion dance...that's okay...because
Alexa & Carmella are on SmackDown. Now I know she's greener than a rain forest...
but she's a face...and I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but...the Face/Hell
dynamic is way out of balance on RAW. Here...let me show you:

Charlotte (Heel)
Sasha Banks (Face) At the moment...
Bayley (Face)
Nia Jax (Heel)
Alicia Fox (Heel)
Dana Brooke (Heel)

Paige (Face ~ as of last appearance)
Emma (Heel ~ as of last appearance)
Summer Rae (Heel ~ as of last appearance)
Tamina (Heel ~ as of last appearance)

You see the rumor is that eventually Sasha Banks will turn heel and feud with Bayley
for the RAW Women's Title...which is fine...Sasha works better as heel and it will hopefully
lead to a big pay-per-view title win that she needs and deserves.

But...if they turn Sasha...it will basically leave Bayley as the lone face on
the roster with no back up...which is never a good spot for any performer to be in.

Clearly the Dana Brooke face turn was given up on...and I can't see anyone getting
behind Alicia Fox even if she did turn face.

Calling up Liv will give Bayley some kind of back up and it may help develop Bayley's
character as she plays mentor to someone younger and "greener" than she is.

Now of course this face/heel dynamic could all change in a moment if say Asuka
walks in the night after Wrestlemania or Paige does actually make a valid and
serious comeback...but at the moment...a new face is needed and with at least
4 women ahead of her in NXT...Little Liv may be-able to do more on the main roster
in the short term.

There has also been some ground work already laid for this idea as Liv recently
worked on some RAW house shows teaming with Bayley & Sasha.

#6: A Trade or Two with SmackDown:
Now I understand I said earlier that all the ladies on SmackDown are all getting
their fair share of the spotlight...but for the sake of RAW...a trade or 2 may help
freshen up both brands. There are so many possibilities a trade would allow for
and I'll give a few examples:

Sasha Banks for Becky Lynch...
Emma for Eva Marie...(That way Emma will actually get some TV time)
Dana Brooke for Carmella...
Alicia Fox for Carmella...(And she can start chasing Tom Phillips again...lol)
Bayley for Naomi...(I know it ain't happening but its an example)

#7: Charlotte Takes A Step Back:

Now don't get me wrong...I worship Charlotte...she's my bae, my amazon,
my Goddess...but...her prominent booking is starting to have an adverse
effect on the other ladies on the roster. Now Charlotte is fantastic at what
she does and she continues to improve with every match and promo...but
because she is so good at what she does...WWE seems scared to give
anyone else a chance to take center stage. I honestly believe Charlotte
should have lost at Hell in a Cell and then taken some much deserved time
off...but she regained the title...and then regained it once again at RoadBlock:
End of the Line and now she's in a feud with Bayley...and it just isn't working.
That is mainly due to "Just Bayley" but the point stands. After Charlotte drops
the belt...she should take some time off and take a step back.

#8: Bring In Some High Profile Outside Talent:
So the WWE has money...the fans make sure of that...and if the WWE aren't
happy to give the ladies on the current roster TV time...then perhaps some big
name signing could be brought in to "spice things up". Using the PWI Female 50
list as a guide. Performers like Gail Kim, Jade, Rosemary & the masked wonder
Sexy Star would all be great additions to the WWE roster...and perhaps after a
few months in NXT any one of these ladies could be used to reinvigorate the
women's division on RAW (And add depth to SmackDown as well)

(Please do not take the time to explain why the listed performers above cannot
be signed or will not be signed to the WWE. Those 4 are just examples...honestly
signing any women with in-ring experience would greatly help the situation in NXT
and eventually the main roster)

Well...I was originally going for 10 ways...but I had to stop at 8...

Now don't get me wrong...the RAW women's division could always be worse...and
the SmackDown women's division is far from perfect...but I personally think some
changes need to made...and hopefully some big changes will happen after Wrestlemania.

Feel free to leave any thoughts, comments, opinions and abuse...and I'm sure I'll
see you all around the traps.

The little Carmella and Ellsworth stuff is brilliant, because without even noticing it we know Carmella is more of a fleshed-out character. Sure we know she's great with style, but instead of just having the commentators scream "Here's Carmella, she's from Stanton Island and she's got a lot of style going on! She's fabulous, Maggle!" they're SHOWING us, and that is why they do part 1 better than SD.

But I remember on NXT, everything was secretly built around Bayley... only time I was excited was for Charlotte was when she beat Bayley clean and the story felt like the heart and determination of Bayley didn't mean shit because Charlotte was naturally better, my heart was kinda torn then. BOOOOO CHARLOTTE HOW DARE YOU BE GOOD AT THINGS. And Sasha's story and Becky turning on her and all these other things, they got so much out of that one character...

idk off topic but spitballing. Great writing yo!

Really good list, #8 especially. Gail Kim and The Dollhouse are really good.
