Last year before No Surrender there was 131 matches and 342 points in total (Without Joe's -10 points) this year it's 147 matches and 525 points and there is still 2 more matches to come next week, Samoa Joe vs Jeff Hardy and Bully Ray vs RVD. Storm and Joe will be in final four it's official and this week we will see which of these 3 will go in finals, Hardy, Ray or RVD? There are a lot to happen. If Hardy wins probably he'll be in No Surrender, if Ray vs RVD won't be draw and it's hard to happen. Let's see last year before No Surrender:
Bully Ray: 49 points (7-7-0-0) - 14 matches
Bobby Roode: 42 points (6-3-0-6) - 15 matches Gunner: 42 points (6-12-0-1) - 19 matches
James Storm: 40 points (6-3-0-3) - 12 matches
Ray was in lead before No Surrender and Gunner and Roode was ties with 42 points and Roode's partner Storm was fourth with 40 points. When Ray beat Storm by DQ he got 3 more points and become 52 in total. Roode and Gunner had to win by submission if they wanted to stay this tournament alive and Roode got submission win and 10 points. He tied with Ray and with the match Bischoff made, Roode got the win that night and won the Series with 59 points.
This year again 4 wrestlers will be in finals. Joe and Storm is official but other three is not official, let's look.
James Storm - 13 match 73 points - DONE
Samoa Joe - 12 match 68 points
Bully Ray - 12 match 55 points
RVD - 12 match 55 points
AJ Styles - 13 match 50 points - DONE
Jeff Hardy - 12 match 49 points
Joe is official but would like to take lead and go to No Surrender but Hardy wants to stay in series, so he should take a clean win. Ray and RVD is gonna wrestle each other and the better man will go to Finals. I think Aces & Eights make this week's matches more interesting.
These were statistics about 2011 and 2012 BFG Series and before I write about 5 man that can go in finals I'll compare these two years series. Last year had better contestants I think; RVD, AJ, Ray, Pope, Joe and Storm were in both tournaments. Last year there were Scott Steiner, Gunner, Matt Morgan, Crimson, Devon and Bobby Roode, this year Magnus, Daniels, Robbie E, Anderson participate in this tournament for the first time. This year there was more matches and points but less excitement. Last year Immortal, better Gunner & Crimson, Joe's anger and his attacks were make BFG Series look good. Crimson dominated at first but then got injured. This year Storm had 20 points from beginning and took it's excitement out a little bit. Aces and Eights just done a little effect to Series. The only thing that makes me wow abou BFG Series is AJ vs Daniels at Destination X, 4 way ladder match and Robbie E getting 5 points from Jeff and 7 from RVD and AJ Styles.
JAMES STORM
Cowboy! I don't really like him. Last year he got in finals in the end but this year it was easy for him. But when he is accused as the leader of A&E he got a little trouble but straighten up and he is now leading. Last year he couldn't win the series but got TNA World Heavyweight Championship before Roode, who won the BFG Series. But with Roode's heel turn, he lost the title to Roode. Then two got in a big feud and Storm couldn't make it. At Lockdown, he lost to Roode in his hometown and disappeared but then returned at Slammiversary and become the first man to beat Crimson in singles matches. Then he showed his interest for WHC and got 20 points following Impact on gauntlet battle royal! Everyone though he was favourite for series, winning series and gaining his revenge by beating Roode at BFG but Roode lost WHC to Aries. He won his last match this week against RVD and he is now at 73 points. But, is there any odds for Storm? Of course. Aces and Eights may look done for him but it is TNA, anything can happen. Or maybe, Crimson can take his revenge from him.
SAMOA JOE
He is now at second and has one more match. If he wins, he will go No Surrender with the lead. He is "The Samoan Submission Machine" and he got 10 points by submission twice. One against Ray, one against Pope. Joe has only won 1 TNA World Title and it's been a long time since that day. He is great in ring, good on mic. Moreover, he is a former ROH wrestler just like Austin Aries. He can re-heat his ROH feud against Aries and it would be a great match. Any odds? Magnus! 2 weeks ago Joe beat his former partner than wanted to shake hands but got refused and attacked!
RVD
The Whole F'in Show! RVD is one of the three wrestlers who are not official for No Surrender and he has a match against Bully Ray. He wants to take the belt he never lost and since his return in 2010 he still can't get it. RVD wasn't good at Series but when he won Falls Count Anywhere match at Hardcore Justice he got 20 points. If he had beat Storm this week, he would qualify for finals but he couldn't done it. Can he make it to finals? Can he catch leading James Storm? Even if he qualifies, it's hard for RVD.
BULLY RAY
Everything I said for RVD is same for him. They have equal points and his fate will be written after his match against RVD. Ray never won a World Title in TNA (neither WWF/E) and can he do it this time? Does he have any odds? Aces and Eights? No, I think Ray have connection with them because he is in this storyline too much even he is a heel and got 20 points at Hardcore Justice thanks to A&E. But maybe, his unfinished business with Abyss will take place?
JEFF HARDY
I think he'll qualify to Finals. After the disgrace he had done at Victory Road 2011 he come back to TNA and he was Resurrected. Some of TNA wrestlers were mada at him but somehow he got himself forgived and even got World Title matches. He wanted one more shot and BFG Series is another chance for him but if he wants it, first he has to beat Samoa Joe. Then he should win the BFG Series. We will se if he can win and get one more shot?
