Does anyone on this board have any knowledge about 360's and whatnot? Like return policies and shit? Like if I was to get one and it got a RROD, would I have to pay to send it in? Just need some knowledge in that department. Plz.

Systems are covered for everything for a year and Red Ring of Death for 3 years. Go on there site and register your console if you have one and it will tell you if you under the initial warrenty and if not if it under 3 years from the date purchesed (It will show you the date purchased) then your covered for Rrod.

If you need help doing that I can guide you through it, Ive done it twice myself and once for a friend.

Why the hell would you get a 360 at this day and age? It was cool when the PS3 didn't have many games but that's changed now.

Peepshow, call 1-800-4my-xbox. They send you a box, you send just your xbox, detach your hard drive, you wait 2 or 3 weeks and they send you a refurbished xbox. Not the same one you sent in though.

I'm looking at getting one on Ebay. There's a ton of bundles on there w/ like the 120 elite system, 4 controllers, cables, and like 10 games for like 300 bucks. A new one is 300 alone. What should I do if I end up getting a red ring on one of those? It's not mine, so I wouldn't have the receipt or anything.

They say you need a recipt but both times I sent mine it I didn't include mine cuase I never keep track of them and still got it fixed. Just to be safe before you purchase it ask them to tell you the manufactuared date on the back of the console if its under 3 years your safe. Try to keep it under 2 just to be safe.

Jesus fucking christ stop arguing about what system is better. I just want to be able to cover my ass in case of the RROD. I heard they make Jasper ones that make it impossible for that to happen. Is that true?

It depends if they have registered it or not. You don't need the original receipt. If they haven't registered it, you would do that before or when you had the RROD. It's just a code on the back of the xbox. I wouldn't risk it though.

Buy one from Zellers and if it dies, just take it back. They don't scan serial numbers.

And I just talked to someone at Gamestop and they said that Microsoft has done away with the 3 year warranty and it's now only 1 year. WHAT THE FUCK. Can someone confirm this shit?
