Like the NFL Discussion Thread, I'd like to start an NBA Discussion thread since there's hardly ever discussions of what's going on in the NBA.

Here's the recent news:

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Avery Johnson never saw it coming.

But just 24 days after he was named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for November, Johnson was fired by the Brooklyn Nets. Assistant P.J. Carlisemo was named interim head coach, and will retain the rest of Johnson's staff.

A search for a new head coach will begin immediately.

I'm surprised that the team just flat-out went downhill after starting 11-4, until they reach .500 with a 14-14 record. I honestly say that it's a bad decision to fire him when there still plenty of basketball being played.

Also, the Charlotte Bobcats continue to show futility, losing their 16th straight game this season. Michael Jordan desperately needs a better staff and talent on the roster because right now, it's getting the team nowhere. It can't beat the organization that he was once part of and that's the Washington Wizards, going 3-23 so far this season.
