The 2010 tennis French Open is on right now and is up to the semi-final stage.

Australian Samantha Stosur has made it into the sem-finals of the women's singles for the second year running and hopefully this year she can go one better. She has beaten the former and then current number one in her last two matches so she is in good form. She is a bit mentally weak but hopefully she will gain confidence from two big wins. On the men's side it looks like Nadal's to lose but if Soderling can make it to the final then it should be a great battle.

Sam Stosur vs Jankovic is on right now.

Well that was over very quickly. Stosur won 6-1 6-2 to cruise into her first ever Grand Slam final. In the final she faces Francesca Schiavone who Stosur has beaten the last four times they have met in straight sets. She will be the overwhelming favourite and I hope that she can keep her nerve and win. No Australian woman has won a major since 1980 so it will do wonders for the sport here. Plus we haven't had a singles grand slam winner at all since Hewitt in 2002 I believe so it will be huge for australian tennis.

I think that the men's semis are both on tomorrow night with the women's final the night after. Soderling and Nadal should win their semi's.

Well Stosur choked in the final but runner-up is a good result and the best for an australian woman in a long time. She was 4-1 up in the second set yet dropped her serve and ended up losing that set 7-6.

Soderling and Nadal did indeed make it to the final and Nadal did it easy in the end. This is the second time he has gone through the French Open without dropping a set which is just amazing. He has now won 5 French Opens and 7 grand slams overall.
