According to sources, TNA Creative team member wrestler Dutch Mantel and TNA Agent Savio Vega have been released by TNA. As we noted in our previous report, backstage sources believed that Mantel's job was in jeopardy.

Dutch Mantel was very close to Jeff Jarrett. He had been with TNA since 2003. His departure leaves the creative team without a veteran 'wrestling mind'. This is a big departure for sure.

Savio Vega was brought in as an agent last year after Scott D'Amore's departure and had been working closely with the Knockouts. He was very close with Jeff Jarrett and Dutch Mantel as well.

There are many who are questioning Jeff Jarrett's status with the company as well. These are both huge shakeups within TNA.

Wow, I don't know what to say. It looks like TNA is entering a brand new era, could we see a complete change in the direction of the company now? I wonder what Russo's future holds as well. This is getting interesting...

Thoughts?

I'm not 100% sold that all of this is because Jarret is sleeping with Karen. It's been noted serval times that Angel knew about it and that it just wasn't talked about.

I think this is something that has been coming for awhile and Carter is just using this as a stepping stone that she's been looking for. Personally I would like a new era in TNA, one that gives the orignals back their power, but I really to see the company taken from Jarret when he's the one that started it all.

Shocking would have been Vince Russo....

Yeah, that's why I looked in here, kinda disappointing.

Anyways, with these two gone hopefully Russo is next and TNA can actually put on some good shows, and maybe even book the young talent well

no, everyone is expecting him to get fired. Dutch is supposed to be good friends with Jeff which is why I wouldn't think anybody could predict this.

Needless to say, Russo is probably next on the chopping block.

^^I doubt it. Why would they trash there entire creative staff. Jarrett's already at home, Dutch fired and then Russo? Who would that leave? almost nobody.

I believe that this is a sign of a) Russo getting even more control. b) that Angle is being even more protected and c) crappier product to come.

Russo and Dutch always have opposing sides. Jarrett has always been the inbetween guy and managed to keep both of them happy and under control. Now Jarrett is out of the picture and Dutch gets fired. Its also no secret that Angle is a fan of Russo. I'm more convinced then ever that Angle has gotten into everyone's (and by everyone I mean Dixie) ear and has convinced her that she needs him to keep TNA alive and she needs to keep him happy etc. Sound familuar? Yeah me too, Hulk Hogan in WCW. And although WCW did well for quite some time still, it eventually bit the dust. But Panda Energy don't have the same money that Turner had.

TNA changes direction because JJ is getting some ass from Angle's ex?

Seriously, how does that justify these rumors of Dixie buying out Jarrett's shares of the company?

JJ needs some booty too every now and then!

This has been a long time coming, it's just pathetic it took a lame duck reason to run some guys out. Dixie Carter should do business the proper way, up front and frank, she should have said; " you suck Jeff. Your guys suck Jeff. My company and Spike are pouring money into this company. You don't draw water here pal,so we've decided to run the company that we are funding the way we see fit." Instead of using the excuse of him ropin Kurt's ex.
Either way it's a bright step forward in TNA, all now is for Russo to be shown the door and hopefully he leaves the industry all together. TNA has all the talent and the resources to make their shit work, too bad it's been Blue by a self-absorbed never-was who was returning a giant favor to a man who was ten years behind in the biz. Maybe now it can move forward.

Not true. Jim Cornette, Mick Foley and Mike Tenay have brilliant booking minds and I think they could do so much with what is there.

The only way TNA would survive is that when Vince takes over TNA

I'm not saying there aren't other people who can do it, its do they want to do it. Cornette already turned down creative, thats why he's in such a minor trivial role to begin with. He only goes to like 1 taping every 4 months. Foley may have good ideas, but I'm not convinced he could produce them into results. Foley is untested as a booker/creative for a wrestling promotion. Being a good writer and having good ideas doesn't translate to good booking and tv spot booking. And Tenay? I am unaware of anything he has ever created and booked, so like Foley is completely untested. At least with Foley we know he can be creative and can write a book. What has Tenay done?

Mike Tenay used to book AAA in the early to mid 90s and was instrumental into getting guys like Rey Jr., Konan and other WCW luchas the exposure that brought them to the states.

Foley is a best selling author. Three times over. He is more accomplished than any TNA booker, which is essentially a writer. I think if a million people would read his ideas many more would watch them.

Okay say Tenay booked Mexican wrestling? Tell me how this qualifies him to be a better booker in a Major US Wrestling Promotion? Yeah so he got these guys exposure in US, that doesn't mean he can book a National Promotion in the US and book and write TV & PPV on a regular full time basis. Not saying he couldn't either, but I still stand by my he is untested and therefore not nessisarly a brillent booking mind as you put it.

Foley also I aready clarified, there is a huge difference from writing a novel to writing for TV. Foley may have good ideas but that doesn't mean he knows how to put them into motion for Television. And as for the many more would watch his ideas....perhaps yes 10 years ago and if it was the WWE, but TNA needs a bigger audience first and Foley's name doesn't carry the same power it did 10 years ago.
