I bought the "Timeline History of WWE: 1995 as told by Kevin Nash" and he was talking about Mabel A.K.A Viscera (sexual chocolate rip off) and a.k.a Big Daddy V.Well he won the 1995 King of the ring, and he got a title shot at Kevin Nash at Summer Slam 1995! REALLY WWE, REALLY, better yet Mabel beat Savio Vega to win the KOTR! Not only that but Dean Douglas basically one of the headlines of Survivor Series! He was a main event caliber star but as Shane Douglas not the Lanny Poffo rip off Dean Douglas.

Mabel
Savio Vega
Dean Douglas

Never really been interested in Mabel until he had his stint in the Ministry of Darkness, which was the only gimmick I liked by him. His sexual gimmick was funny, but it was meh at the time I watched. Nothing against him, I guess WWE was just trying to build up new stars, although I agree I don't really like the idea of him getting a title shot, even if it was all the way back in 1995.

I LIKED IT WHEN MABEL'S GIMMICK WAS RAPING DUDES TWO AT A TIME.

The best was Matt Hardy. That's what Hardy Boys are good for, taking it in the ass.

There's a reason 1995 is the worst year in WWF history, OP.

Mabel also said in a shoot once that Vince wanted to give him the world title at Summerslam but the Kliq pulled a political move and vetoed it. I guess dirty politics in wrestling isn't always a bad thing as I'd say we definitely dodged a bullet there.

Kliq know what's up. They were trying to hold the whole thing together. The same thing with Nash pinning Goldberg at Starrcade. He didn't do it as some ego trip. He held the belt for one night. The point was for him to drop the strap to Hogan immediately, scale back the nWo and create a heel machine for Goldberg to run through in 1999. The problem is Goldberg is a fucking moron and decided to punch out several windows to look like a tough guy in a segment on that same Nitro. You can sort of blame WCW's demise on Goldberg entirely when you look at it like that. Fuck Goldberg.

I don't know. I can't blame Nash and the Kliq for keeping Mabel from getting the strap, but Nash along with Hogan still played his fair share of politics (as well documented) and I find it hard to believe he didn't have some influence in ending Goldberg's streak seeing as how he became the head booker just two months later. I know he dropped the belt the next night (or the next week, whichever) but that didn't suddenly take away the glory he got and would always get from being the one to give Goldberg his first loss. Plus, that story that he and Hogan like to tell about how Goldberg vs the NWO was dropped because of Goldberg's legit arm injury caused by smashing the windows on the limo is horseshit. That only happened in December of that year. The NWO had already long disbanded by then and Hogan himself had already reverted back to being a babyface again (and had already fought and beat Nash in a real match at Road Wild in August.) The Goldberg/NWO angle was killed in February when Goldberg was dropped into an undercard feud with Bam Bam Bigelow.

Regardless, I didn't mind Nash ending it or the Fingerpoke happening because people were slowly getting bored of Goldberg always winning (he had been undefeated for a year and a half, after all) and screwing Goldberg out of his streak and then showing it was all a ploy to get the title back into the hands of the NWO actually gained Goldberg a lot of sympathy and momentum back. It was a great idea for an angle, but unfortunately, WCW was too incompetent to follow up on it.

King of the Ring 95 seemed to me like everyone was in Vince McMahon's black book because the bookings seemed like he was making everyone pay for their possible backstage misdemeanors. Mabel vs Savio in the main event? HBK vs Kama and it only going to a time-limit Draw? Bret and Lawler in a Kiss My Foot match? I mean, they say that SummerSlam 95 was bad but this, this was the absolute shits.

Well, indeed, 1995 is regarded as one of the worst years in WWE history because of stuff like this. What can you do? It's not surprising WCW got the lead on the wars a while later when WWE was pulling stuff like that out.
