New York (CNN) -- Authorities in Bayonne, New Jersey, are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that left four people dead, including a 1-year-old boy, prosecutors said Tuesday.
The alleged shooter, Adepso Colado, 31, fired some 20 rounds from an unregistered .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun, according to Edward DeFazio, the prosecutor in Hudson County, New Jersey.
The incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. Monday in the home of Colado's wife, Kenia Colado, 24, from whom he had separated earlier this year, DeFazio said.
Both died from gunshot wounds to the head.
The other victims were identified as Jose Guzman, 31, and his 1-year-old son, Matthew.
The prosecutor said police will be looking into the relationship between Kenia Colado and Guzman as the investigation moves forward.
