“Mamaâ€￾ director Andres (Andy) Muschietti is in negotiations to direct “The Mummyâ€￾ reboot at Universal.

Muschietti would replace Len Wiseman, who had to leave the project due to commitments with his TV show “Sleepy Hollow.â€￾

Sean Daniel, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing.

Jon Spaihts wrote the script and the studio still sees the film as a top priority, given the popularity of the previous franchise, which starred Brendan Fraser.

“Mamaâ€￾ was a big over-performer at the B.O., bringing in more than $100 million worldwide after only costing $15 million to make.

Muschietti is repped by Resolution.

I hope he doesn't make this as cheesy as Mama turned out to be.
