Sounds like they are just making it clear it's their character and that they intend to keep it. That way when Cara is gone he's got little claim to it.
Just pass the outfit around to anyone that can fit into it. Cara was and is a joke why try and sell the illusion just make a new masked man this one already has a tainted rep.
