    True and I imagine they wanted it to be like previous Darby and Sting multimans they've done on PPV but this match didn't really have the right pieces

    I guess appreciate is debatable though. Either way, clearly the reverence wasn't enough for Naito to really get his ass in gear for that match.

    I think Naito is just washed and phoning it in, it doesn't have to be any more than that. The idea that a professional wrestler, regardless of their nationality, would not be acutely aware of and appreciate Sting's legendary status in the business is nuts.

    Sure. To be clear I don't really give a fuck how or what he rates matches to begin with, would only be one extra layer of insignificance if he was taking moral stances against dangerous spots, :tome. Everyone can have their take tho.

    Let's just pretend it even matters... I can understand not giving an additional star for a dangerous spot, but taking a star away for it is clownery when the quality of the match is the quality of the match, gtfo with the sanctimonious nonsense

    It was more "Western" or "sports entertainmenty" in many regards but I enjoy a good spectacle over all else, so that checks out as to why I would give it the edge

    What would put the 2nd match over the 1st match for me is probably the litany of things that happened that more or less we've never seen in AEW ring, such as the usage of the flag, Osprey licking Kenny's blood, Kenny taking those headers into the announce desk piece, the Tiger Driver 91, etc etc
