It's also a very predatorial industry that takes a lot of money from single guys in a country that's overpopulated and suffering from low birth rates and high suicide...

    Absolute yuck. Japan's culture has always been pretty fucked up regarding minors and occupations. One only needs to see just how bad Idol Culture is in East Asia to get a sense that things are not really okay.
