    90's got incredibly weak in the Horror department thanks in part to the major film recession of the era. There was a time when Summer Movies and Horror just weren't selling. As good as Scream was, it's difficult to really say anything else competed against it.

    The Mist was a very good horror film. I also forgot It Follows, The Babadook, Us, Evil Dead (Remake), You're Next... The point is, 21st Century Horror movies are very good, but you have to look for them, much like in the 80's.
