    I would say that 12 Years a Slave is the most perfect film released over the last year. It will be a contender for my film of 2014 without doubt.

    ^ It does have one of the greatest actresses maybe of all time in Julianne Moore. I've not seen it yet, but because of JGL directing, and the trailer I got the impression there was something more to it.

    Good list there, Captain Phillips and Prisoners are two I will be catching up with for sure. Gravity was excellent, and I too really enjoyed The Way Way Back, it is possibley the best film of its kind released this year.
