    This was around the time he returned to the WWF around 1982-1983, just as he was about to retire. Like, here's him in 1978 and then there's him in the years after, the Karate gimmick, and then his late-80's look. He is nearly unrecognizable.

After he lost the WWWF Championship, his shine really started to fall and then when he returned a few years later on JCP bald in with a karate gimmick, it really felt like he lost the plot.
