WWE and NJPW Reportedly in "Talks"

If the exclusivity wasn't on the table - I honestly wouldn't care about the idea of the 'dream matches'. I'm gatekeeping against the idea, of dream matches taking place at the cost of all the other benefits that NJPW provides. Especially in how it has helped built so many Gaijin wrestlers -...

People who are just happy for WWE to hold a North American monopoly with New Japan, probably though that WCW going out of business was good for the wrestling industry. Imagine not understanding why people are against exclusivity.

The point I'm making, is that its like someone saying Asuka and Io Shirai are their favourite wrestlers - but then saying they would only be drawn to watch JOSHI or Stardom if these people featured in special contests. Its not really controversial.

I don't think one New Japan fan would be excited about Roman Reigns working with anyone, other than Toru Yano.

It is relevant though, because these partnerships and the creation of NXT UK - led to wrestlers who worked for others promotions being blacklisted.

WWE and NJPW Reportedly in "Talks"

The reason I'm so against it, is being ICW and Progress Wrestling has just been tainted by their WWE Influences - and are just basically a shell of their former selves.

I'd rather eat Cathedral city cheddar

At the time I made that comment - it was pretty trash. But I do respect what they are doing with the brand.

As a NJPW fan before anything else, this is not good news for the whole idea of what NJ is - if an exclusivity deal goes threw. Especially for the lesser product NJPW Strong, which will effectively be dead in the water or become effectively NXT Japan if NJ agree to not use any talent not signed...
