    But we'll see what happens with an Audit and if one backs up what he says, then he genuinely has a case for defamation/slander.

    He came out and showed a lot of receipts to show the discrepancies. Still there was an issue around transparency, but assuming what he says is backed up by an audit and the numbers of his charity are adjusted, there isn't a legal issue. Just dumb mistakes.
