I'm telling you, whatever they did to that 23 on the pit stop in Stage 2 absolutely tanked that thing. Running 15th isn't terrible, but he was so good early.
Interesting note on that 62 car, driven today by Austin Hill. Beard Motorsports is the smallest team in the Cup Series. They only have one full time employee on payrole, and he's the crew chief. Everyone else who works for the team does it as a second job.
I know it's rare for different manufacturers to link up, but holy shit. The 17 and the 45 should just hook up and draft, and try to put as much space between themselves and the 19 as possible.
Chastain back in the top 10. He looked so good in practice, I had high hopes for today. Hopefully he can at least hold on to get a good finish out of this.
Yea, Daytona is a crap shoot. That's why I never really pick anyone to win there lol. Feels like the road courses are his best shot, especially Watkins Glen.
Definitely bad for Bowman's playoff aspirations. Not looking good for him. Chase has to win a race at this point. With 2 roadcourses coming up, it's plausible, but his chances are dwindling too
Feels like it's really between him and Byron as things stand. There's other guys that you can't count out (Busch has been hot, Larson is always a threat), but for me, there's the 19, the 24, and then the field...in that order.
After what he did there, I'd bet dollars to donuts that the 19 gets taken the R&D Center post-race for one of those "random" inspections. NASCAR has been hesitant to take Toyotas for the last 2 years, but I can't imagine they ignore that one lol
