Episode One: A RAW Road to the Rumble
Universal Championship
Roman Reigns(c) VS Finn Balor
The current reigning and defending WWE Universal Champion, that being Roman Reigns(c) had began his first reign with the title since August 2018. On the nineteenth of August 2018 that year's edition of the biggest party of the summer aka Summerslam. Saw Reigns walk into the event in the role of number one contender to the WWE Universal Championship, however he wouldn't walk out as a contender but as a champion instead. As he would manage to put an end to the then reigning champion the "Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar's 504 day reign to capture the gold.
Fast forward to the second episode of Monday Night RAW of the new year, and the man who was the first ever WWE Universal Champion that being Finn Balor. Took part in a number one contender fatal four way match where the winner would challenge Reigns at the Royal Rumble pay per view event for the gold. Balor would manage to get the win by pinning his old rival Seth Rollins to get the win and more importantly to earn a shot at the title he never got the chance to defend.
RAW Women's Championship - Bliss Last Chance
Ronda Rousey(c) VS Alexa Bliss
At the 2018 Summerslam pay per view the self-proclaimed "Baddest Woman on the Plant" Ronda Rousey picked up first piece of championship gold. When she competed in a singles match for the WWE RAW Women's Championship against the then champion Alexa Bliss(c). Who she would manage to get the victory over, and for the rest of the year and into 2019 she kept hold of the prize.
Monday Night RAW General Manager Kurt Angle would announce on the first episode of Monday Night RAW of 2019 that Bliss would get one more chance at the gold while Rousey was champion. And that the match would take place at the 2019 WWE Royal Rumble pay per view event.
RAW Tag Team Championship
Bobby Roode & Chad Gable(c) VS The Revival
On back to back episodes of Monday Night RAW, Dash Wilder defeated one half of the reigning WWE RAW Tag Team Champions in the form of Bobby Roode. Then on the following week's episode of the show, Scott Dawson defeated the other half of the reigning champion's in the form of Chad Gable.
As a result of both of these victories, MNR General Manager Kurt Angle awarded the Revival a championship match at a time and place of their choosing with the duo of Wilder and Dawson stating it would be at the Royal Rumble.
