The bungee-like nature of political correctness will be studied by future generations. In the span of just 10 years our society made a crazy push towards being sensitive with language, to the point it became annoying even for otherwise progressive people, and has in the last few years snapped back towards the opposite direction where being anti-woke is the new woke, people are using slurs and offensive language again pretty willy nilly, and some of the most famous comedians atm are people who will simultaneously call something gay for laughs and also object to the whitewashing of abusive government regimes.
