It doesn't come as a surprise because he has been wanting to do it for a while. But he didn't ever do it because he thought he would get backlash for doing it. Now, he's very confident he can do whatever he wants.

So keep this in mind, if this holds up, this technically means that anyone who opposes facism can be arrested.

Oh I always liked the Tudor Dynasty era too. Coincidentally, however, Henry VIII was the king who did what Trump is trying to do now. He was the most powerful King in British History and also considered one of the worst by historians.

I wonder who that sounds like...

Well, maybe not a moron really. If he wants to be a dictator, and everyone who pays attention to the man knows that he does because he has acted like it through both presidencies, labeling anyone who is against fascism as a terrorist gives him pretty much the power to arrest anyone who opposes him.

That is actually pretty smart and evil. Oh and if I am not mistaken this is exactly what Hitler did. Don't believe me, read about The Reichstag Fire Degree. This is not very different.

Next came the Malicious Practices Act, which made it an actual crime to say anything bad about the government.

Next came the Enabling Act. This allowed Hitler's cabinet to enact laws without Parliament being involved. Although I doubt this will happen, the Republicans have now used the nuclear option 3 times to rewrite the rules of the Senate. I guarantee you although they promised they never would, if this continues, the filibuster is gone next and that gives the Republicans a majority to pass any law Trump wants. Trump has already tried to make laws with executive orders. This is not much different.

There is big redistricting going on right now that would make it more possible for Trump to keep a Republican House, basically making the Congress a rubber stamp for him for the whole of his second term.

What baffles me the most are the people who don't see this happening though. I've tried over and over to step back from politics or give the guy a chance but every time I do, he takes a step further toward making himself a dictator and it's so blatantly obvious.
