The asset package includes 16 fully assembled, high-performance SRX race cars, as well as a comprehensive suite of pit equipment, race-day infrastructure, and select spare parts. This move marks a strategic expansion for GMS Race Cars as it builds upon its mission to deliver cutting-edge chassis platforms, customer racing experiences, and engineering support across a growing national footprint.
“These race cars were built to an incredibly high standard by Ray, with durability, drivability, and performance in mind,” said Joey Cohen, President at GMS Race Cars. “Our team sees a huge opportunity to take these vehicles into a new era, repurposing them for premium track-day experiences, turnkey customer programs, and specialty racing events across the country. The possibilities are endless.”
“This acquisition is a major step forward for GMS Fabrication as well,” said Mike Beam, President of GMS Fabrication. “Our fabrication teams are central to every racing effort, and we’re excited to lead this next chapter with the craftsmanship and pride that GMS is known for.”
Originally developed by Ray Evernham for the national SRX television series that ran from 2021 to 2023, the vehicles are modern, purpose-built stock cars designed to produce close, exciting racing and deliver a strong driver experience.
“It’s incredibly gratifying to see these cars live on in a new format,” said Ray Evernham, founder of Ray Evernham Enterprises. “We built them to be durable, lively, and fun—whether in the hands of champions or first-timers. GMS Race Cars is the perfect group to carry that torch forward and put smiles on a whole new generation of drivers.”
The transaction does not include the SRX brand, trademarks, or future broadcast rights, and GMS has no affiliation with the SRX series operations.
