Synopsis: Jack, a struggling musician, meets with an accident during a blackout and wakes up to find out that only he remembers The Beatles. Later, he starts singing the band's songs to gain fame.
This was quite charming indeed. I had a good feeling about it right off the bat seeing as Danny Boyle's name was attached, I always enjoy his directing style. The concept was a lot of fun and and seeing a world in which a ban of The Beatles' scale didn't exist was interesting. It's always pretty fascinating to imagine that sort of stuff with how massive of an influence bands like that had on music as a whole and pop culture. Himesh Patel was pretty amazing in the leading role and I had no idea he was such a talented singer, he blew me away with his vocal ability. He's not covering easy songs, very iconic ones, and he totally knocked it out of the park. I loved so many of his covers that his character does. They definitely casted the right guy for this, he was perfect. I felt there was a good balance between the dramatic and humorous moments, neither felt too overbearing and it had a good flow to it. The main character being so conflicted at having fame but knowing that the songs weren't his was really well-done, I enjoyed the character growth.

and it's a movie I have surprisingly never seen before despite being a big fan of animated movies. I was initially going to do a rewatch of Zoolander as it was the only one I could think of, Z is a tricky one. I always heard great things and it basically surpassed all of those expectations in every department. I could easily slot this up there with some of my favourite animated movies now. Definitely in that rewatch territory for me down the line. The cast of characters was so enjoyable, the voice acting was top notch, the visuals and vibrant nature of it was wonderful and the movie itself was so funny, I laughed way more than I expected to. Just a massively enjoyable time.
