SD was a strong show I thought. Right away, I'm loving how you're making the cross brand matches feel like a big deal. The Bayley/Charlotte build has been great, and Charlotte having plenty to say here was good yet again. Even the wrinkle of having Gargano talk up his match with Owens, only for Sami to now steal the IC title and that match was fun. Sami/KO have so much history that it just works. So thumbs up for the booking surrounding these.
The elimination match stuff looks good, and I like the idea of a favor being used, it just adds to the importance of the match. Honestly though, it felt like the SD team had a really good night, so the arguing at the end felt really forced and out of place. And just one thing in particular, AJ Styles back to being a good guy, but still being unable to say a nice thing about 'Taker after being buried alive is some awesome character work.
The Otis stuff progressed well again, with him rightfully being down in the dumps after the issues with Mandy and Tucker. Tucker getting his back here is potentially the start of the come up for Otis which is fine.
Last thing I'll comment on, really enjoying all the bloodline stuff. Love that we got a family history video package prior to the big segment at the end of the night. Jey lashing out at both his brother and his cousin was a good way to go, showing he's ready to stand alone as main event Jey. I don't think that's actually going to happen, but the build is really good.
Really good stuff all around here.
